Hi what is the best way to record term deposits..ie cash ,bond or other means

Hi alan,

Buying cash (or equivalent) should be done at a price of 1, where the shares equal the value. For example, if you deposit $1,000 into cash, this is a buy of $1,000 for 1,000 shares at a price of $1. All closing prices and all transactions stay fixed at $1.

Bonds are different. The transaction/closing prices should be at a percentage of par, near 100. For details on recording bond transactions, see this:

Hello,

The best way is to invest it as a bond with interest payment at maturity.
