How to handle a Margin Account E, F, G, H

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby ThomasK » Wed Sep 03, 2014 12:33 pm

I think I'm confused on handling a non-registered account margin account.
Up here anyway, margin accounts are comprised of four sub-accounts, ie 123456-E, F, G, H
E = Canadian Long
F = US Long
G = Canadian Short
H = US Short

MUST I SPLIT the account into four sub accounts in Portfolio Editor or can I manage all my CAD, USD Long and Short transactions in 1 account? Recommendations?

Thanks
ThomasK

Hi ThomasK,

I would recommend modelling it exactly as it appears in your brokerage. If it is 4 accounts, each with their own cash, set it up this same way in FM.
Thanks,
Mark
