General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby nismith » Wed Feb 11, 2015 12:50 pm

I noticed a couple of posts on this subject that seemed slightly contradictory.

I want to use Dropbox to put FM.dat in for access on my laptop. You seemed to say that is OK provided user aware of risk of conflicted copy which I am. But then another poster had a query about 'flickering' when using Dropbox and you said it was something you had noticed. Are you happy I try DB provided i close down properly?

Hi Nigel,

Yes, it is fine to store your data on Dropbox. There used to be an issue when using portable mode/dropbox with intermittent errors on creating log files necessary for price retrieve etc, but that has been resolved. If you want to be able to access the same data/settings from multiple PCs, set it up to use the portable mode, with the program and data stored on your Dropbox folder. See:
