No historical data for Bloomberg symbol

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark

Trying to set up a watch list with the symbol ROGEALT:FP (ELAN GESTION ALTERNATIVE C isin FR0010100495) and retrieve prices since inception.. 2 problems:
1. Although Bloomberg open symbology reports ticker as ROGEALT:FP going next on Bloomberg.com no such ticker is found ...? Next attempting to download historical prices via FM no prices are retrieved..?
2. When setting up a new investment as part of a watch list (no actual shares bought)what do you recommend I enter as Price and no. of shares in the properties box?

Would appreciate yr advice?

Thx

C.

Hi Costas,

Bloomberg doesn't seem to have that symbol. If you search for it, they don't display it. You might look on another quote server. Links to all our quote servers are here:

For watchlist items, you can just enter the shares as 0. You can record the price for a given day, or just enter 1, and then when you retrieve prices it will overwrite that temporary price of 1. (Make sure you enter it for a weekday, so that it gets overwritten.)
Thanks,
Mark
