Changing Defaults

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby condor116 » Wed Oct 07, 2015 6:49 pm

In Edit>Investment Properties I would like to be able to set the default for Investment Goal to Growth & Income.

Also, I would like to be able to set a default for the Commission when I use Control-N.

Also, Under Edit>Price Alert, I would like to be able to set a default of 8% below the per share amount I paid. It would be really nice if as the price goes up, FM would continue to raise the Price Alert to follow the price increase up.

Also, I would like to be able to set a default of 25% above the per share price that I paid. Once the price increases over the price that I paid, I would like the 25% to ratchet up as the price goes up, always staying 25% ahead of the present price.

Also, I have noticed when I open Edit>Price Alert, there is always a price already there. I change that price and hit activate and close. When I reopen the fund and do another Edit>Price Alert, the price that appears is the old price, not the price I just entered.

I was wizard348 but I forgot my password and had to re-register to be able to get on the board. I know I am a nit picking crazy person, but I love this software. It does so much that I guess I am spoiled and just want it to do everything. Maybe put these new features in the Pro edition which cost more.

Thank you for the best Fund Manager Software on the Internet. I have no idea what would be considered second and don't care.

Hi condor116,

Thanks for the feedback/ideas.

On the alerts, there is a "trailing stop loss" alert in the Professional/Advisor versions that does this "ratchet" algorithm.

It sounds like you are adding a new price alert each time, instead of editing your existing alert. You can see all your alerts in the Data Register, with the "Data Type" set to "Alerts". You can then edit the existing alerts, instead of adding a new one.

I've reset the wizard348 password, and sent you the new password to the email account associated with the wizard348 account. You can either use the new account, or old one, it is fine either way...

EDIT: It seems the email address associated with wizard348 is no longer valid. If you can send me a PM with your old and new email addresses, I can forward it to you.
Thanks,
Mark
