Hi Mark
I believe this topic has been cover and if there is a post you can direct me appreciate.
I am having trouble with my HD and suspect will need replacement, the only good image I can recreate is from July, also have access to daily BU's to date.
So, will have a new HD restored to full image dated July and the daily BU files from an external drive, will that be enough to have all my accounts, portfolios etc up to date?
thanks
David

Hi David,

If you are using a 9.x version, then yes, you will have everything in the backups. Simply do a "File / Restore..." from one of your backups.

There is one caveat here if you're running Vista with User Account Control (UAC) turned on. In this case, your registry preferences are not backed up, due to permission restrictions. Things like memorized reports, and other preferences are saved in the registry. All of your investments and portfolios are still backed up, but just not your preferences. If you are in this situation, you may want to do a backup with UAC off. In Windows, go to "Control Panel / User Accounts / Turn UAC on/off".
