Indices and MACD

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi
How can I track the various indices? There must be *.dat files for each of these somewhere, right?

Also, I like to track changes in MACD for the Dow. How can I set an alarm to signal when the MACD crosses its signal line?

Hi karlmoll,

You can just create investments for whatever indices you'd like to track. You might want to read this FAQ on comparing an index to a portfolio.

We don't currently have an alarm (called alerts in Fund Manager) for MACD crossing a signal line. This may be a good capability we could add in a future version.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks. I've created investments for those I need that appear on the Yahoo site. What about others like the MSCI EAFE that Yahoo doesn't seem to have?

Hi karlmoll,

If the index you want isn't available on Yahoo, then you can either use another quote server, manually update the prices, or import the prices from some other source. For a list of all our supported quote servers, please see:
