error 12029

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark,

My Fund Manager (8.7 on Windows Vista) just started showing

Winlet Error Code 12029 Message: A connection with the server could not be established

when I try to update prices. I get the same message if I try to check for updates.

I understand this might have something to with the firewall. Mine didn't have Fund Manager listed as an exception so I added it, but I still get the same error message.

I had to do a system restore recently. Could that have anything to with the problem? Any other ideas?

Hi Eric,

That error message does usually indicate that Fund Manager is not able to access the internet because it is being blocked by a firewall program. I would double check that you've added the exception okay into your firewall program, and maybe re-start your computer. Yes, a system restore may have had some impact on the settings of your firewall.
