how to make 2 sub portfolios from a top one

I want to make 2 sub portfolios out of 1 - half the existing shares were sold to buy investments for a new sub portfolio. The top portfolio will contain only the 2 sub pf; the 2 sub pf will have separate default cash accounts. I already have all the investments files including the cash accounts, that survived the wipeout.
To avoid disaster, how do I proceed ?

You can do this in the Portfolio Editor. You can create new sub-portfolios, move sub-portfolios/investments, and whatever you need to do. The default cash account is assigned as a property of the sub-portfolio. I'd suggest watching this tutorial to help you use the Portfolio Editor.
