How do I enter accrued interest on purchase?

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi!

I'm still trying to understand the new features of v.10.

Please tell me how to enter accrued interest on a bond purchase.

On April 30, 2009 (issue date) I bought $25000 worth of a bond dated April 15, 2009 @ 100.113235. The accrued interest was $0.51357 per $1000, for at total of $12.84, so the cash I actually paid out of pocket was $25,041.15.

What do I enter into which field when I create a "New Investment" to record the purchase?

Thanks again.
David.

Hi David,

In the "New Investment" dialog, make sure you've set the "Investment Type" to "Bond" and then in the "Opening Data" section you enter this:

Date: 4/30/09
Price: 100.113235
Shares: 250
Accrued Interest: 12.84
Commission: 0
Thanks,
Mark
