crash & can't open portfolio files

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Yikes, months of work appear to be gone. I was running fund manager on a beta version of windows 7 on a mac under vmware fusion and a crash happened. I got the beta version of windows 7 running again, but can't open any of my portfolio files. I get the message "unknown portfolio file version (6) and Master Portfolio Scott's IRA.mm4."

When I look at the fund manager application in windows 7, it tells me I have fund manager is version 9.6, even though I had upgraded to fm10.x. I can't find a fm10.x anywhere in the windows 7 file operating system.

It makes sense that fm9.6 can't read my files as you have stated a file format change for the data files with fm10.x.

Since I've paid for fm10.x, how do I get it back?

Thanks, Scott

Yes, that worked!! And I have it installed and it read my portfolio info -- wonderful to have almost a year data entry back again!!!

When I ran fm10.4 it showed as an unlicensed copy. I assume I can just go to a drop-down menu somewhere and enter my license code. Didn't try to find and enter that license info in the last session because, after my crash, I'm leery to stay in the vmware software for too long.

Thanks again,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Glad you got it back. Yes, just go under "Help / Enter License Key..." to enter your license.
Thanks,
Mark
