General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark,
It would seem after the last 2 or so upgrades of FM version 10 that one cannot see the data by moving the mouse over a note or transaction on a Friday if the "omit weekend days" on investment graphs is ticked.
This happens when the last data date is on a Friday and the end date is the same Friday.
If one displays weekend days then the note/transaction can be seen in the status bar at the bottom of FM.
It is thus not possible to view the data on the Friday where the investment graph end.
Would it not be possible to omit weekend days but still see the note or transaction in the status window on the left bottom of FM?
The note or transaction can be seen on the investment graph it is only viewing what the details of the note/transaction is.
Please give me feedback on this slight problem.
Regards.

Hi fundman247,
I tried, but wasn't able to reproduce this problem. I have omit weekends turned on, and tried several of the investment based graphs, with a buy transaction marker for 1/7/11, and the same ending graph date.
When you see this, does the cursor change shape to the X when it is over this marker? When the cursor goes over a marker, the cursor should change to this shape, and the status bar should be filled in with the details. Does this happen on all the investment graph types, or only a certain one?
If you're still experiencing this problem, please try this:
1) Close your whole portfolio (File / Close Portfolio).
2) Open just a single investment with a transaction on a Friday, and create a graph window.
3) If you're able to see this problem still, use "File / Save Portfolio As..." and then "File / Backup...". Email me this backup file, and I'll see if I can't reproduce the problem with your data and settings.

Mark my cursor fails to become a cross as it normally does and then displays the info at the bottom. It is doing it on all 3 my PC's on XP prof.
The moment I untick omit weekends then I can see it.
Will try it with a single investment and save as portfolio and back up and e-mail to the support e-mail address.
Danie.

Hi Danie,
I've just sent you an email. You can reply to that with the backup, and I'll take a look.

Hi Mark,
I am picking up the same problem on a PC (XP Prof) running vers 11 beta 4. Some time ago you did a mod after I sent you some video clips regarding the problem listed below.
I only checked to see the data at a buy/sell/note marker and found it won't pick up my markers at the last date of investment graphs and also picks up the marker more than 10 pixels to the left of other markers that are not on the extreme right of the display.
It might be PC related as I am using a different PC to the previous time in January?
I wonder if you could check that vers 11 does not have the "bug" we got in vers 10.8 I think it was.
Regards.

Hi Danie,
I don't have the data you sent earlier to test with 11. Can you download the official 11 and see if that still displays the problem? If so, please do the same as before, and create a small portfolio file, and then send me a backup of it.

Hi Mark,
I will check the final version of FM11 and report back after the weekend.
Could you please indicate if there is a way of copying some FM program file from a pc that has all one's import strings to another pc that has no custom import strings apart from the one's shipped with FM.
This relates to vers 10.
Regards.

Hi Danie,
Your most recent import strings are stored in the registry. You can use "File / Backup..." and "File / Restore..." to backup and restore the "Global Preferences", which are your registry entries.
