Change investment data folder

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi

I am storing the portfolio and investments on a cloud server (livedrive.com). This worked well up until recently when synchronizing the files sometimes creates problems.

How can I redirect the investment files to another folder on my PC disk drive? It is easy to save the portfolio in a folder when saving the portfolio ("save the portfolio as..."), but I do not see a way to save the investments in another (new) directory.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

rojeg

Hi rojeg,

From within the Portfolio Editor you can select an investment, and then choose "File / Save Investment As...". You would need to do this for each investment.

This may not be necessary, as the path to the portfolio files is stored in a relative manner to the location of the portfolio file. If you have the portfolio file and investment files all in the same folder now (even on livedrive.com) you could probably just copy all the *.dat and the *.mm4 file to a new local folder, and then when you open the portfolio file from this new location it should read in the investments from this new folder as well.
Thanks,
Mark
