Mark,
I have two questions about getting rid of erroneous entries in a
portfolio.
My most recent transaction download did not contain a new purchase
even though the cash account activity was in the download. However,
I did find the security's .dat file. When I tried to "Open" it, it said that
the file was already open in the portfolio. However, I could not see it
in the portfolio editor and, therefore, cannot change any attributes.
There is only one .dat file for this security.
Upon "unhiding" the holdings using the 'View' menu, I see 3 entries
for this security. After changing the attribute in one entry to remove
the hidden status and then turning back the "hiding" using the the 'View'
menu, I find that all three of the entries are there in the portfolio
editor. What more, the portfolio report contains 3 entries!!
The question is how do I remove the 2 "extra" entries in the portfolio.
Somehow, FM seems to create 3 positions based on just one .dat
file. The portfolio editor shows the same path for all three entries.
The second question is related. While trying to see what the "Open
Investment" menu item would do, I chose an investment that happens
to be in another portfolio. Bang -- it appeared in the portfolio that I
am trying to fix. Now, I have another unwanted position in the
portfolio!!
Same question -- how do I undo the "Open Investment" operation
for the portfolio in question or, just remove it.
thanks
