Hi Mark,

I am confused how to use this functionality in version 12. Do I need to create a sub portfolio with the proper target percentages in it. Right now my portfolios are set up like this, for example:

Total Portfolio
-401K
-Taxable
-Benchmarks
I have a target for the total portfolio and trade within each account to meet the targets. Where would I build this sub portfolio with the correct targets. Since this portfolio will have "owned shares" unlike the benchmark portfolio won't it screw up the value of the Total Portfolio.

Thanks
ASU

Hi ASU,

Yes, you need to create a reference (model) sub-portfolio. You would create it outside of your actual owned sub-portfolio. You can create as much hierarchy in sub-portfolios as you want. You can do something like this:

Code: Select all
-Master Portfolio
  -Reference Portfolios
    -Reference 1
    -Reference 2
  -My Portfolios
    -Total Portfolio
      -401K
      -Taxable
      -Benchmarks

You can also apply this concept to your "Benchmarks" sub-portfolio, so it isn't actually shown in your owned sub-portfolio.
Thanks,
Mark
