I have imported investments from MSM in QIF. It appears that the stock symbols did not import. Should they have?

Hi hokie63k,

The QIF standard uses "Names" in the transaction section. The QIF standard also supports a "Security" section that maps these names to symbols. If your QIF file has this security section, Fund Manager will import it. It sounds like yours did not... You can manually edit the symbols under "Investment Properties... / General".
Thanks,
Mark

I exported from MS Money to a QIF file using MSM export command. Should it have had the security file so that I could get symbols?

Hi hokie63k,

I'm not sure, MS Money may only be exporting the transactions. You can open up your .QIF file in Notepad, and see if you see a security section, where it shows the symbols of your investments.
Thanks,
Mark
