Upgrade Issue

I just upgraded to version 11.8 from version 7.8. Now I have no data past April of 2008 and some of those investments I no longer have. Now what??

Hi Chuck,

Is it possible you were running version 7.8 on Windows Vista or Windows 7, and you were storing your data files underneath the "Program Files" folder? Version 7.8 is not Vista/7 compatible, and can result in these type of issues.

When you were running 7.8 under Vista/7, your data files were probably being "virtualized" by Windows because 7.8 is not Vista/7 compatible. When you switched to 11.x your data files were no longer being virtualized, and FM couldn't find them. It would have found the real files, before copies were made in the Virtual Store. To fix this, go copy your data files out of the Virtual Store, and place them where you'd like to keep your data, like in "My Documents\Fund Manager". Please go look for your files here:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Fund Manager\My_Data

and copy them to the My Documents\Fund Manager folder, and then open it from there within Fund Manager.

Just the solution I neded. Great product, I've been using it since version 3 and wouldn't think of any other product. Your customer service and response time are far ahead of any other product or industry I have delt with in my 60 plus years.
