Correct transaction type for declaration of bankruptcy

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi - I would like to see a new transaction type that explicitly records the fact of a bankruptcy which zeroes out the value of a given shareholding. Currently I cannot simply enter "0.00" as the share price, so must falsely record a 'sell' transaction - which might have tax implications in some juristictions

Hi Paul King,

Thanks for the feedback. I agree it would be nice to be able to just set the closing price to 0.00. Hopefully we can eliminate this restriction in a future version. For now, you may consider using a "Transfer Out" transaction. You can transfer out all the shares at a market value of 0. The Transfer Out transaction will not generate a Capital Gains entry.
Thanks,
Mark
