Janus Funds SINGON Invalid

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby Tom » Thu Aug 02, 2012 5:58 pm

Just added Janus to FM. Login and password are correct and work fine when I manually login to Janus via a web browser, however get "SIGNON INVALID" when using FM. Account # is correct as well, however I get the same error with it removed, so I assume FM does not need it for signon.
Pls advise.

Hi Tom,

Only the username and password are initially required, in order to log in. As you observed, the account number doesn't come into play until later. The "signon invalid" message is coming from Janus, so somehow the information is not entered correctly according to their OFX server. Did you try entering your username without any dashes or special characters. Previously, Janus used your social security number as your login. If this is still your case, do not enter the dashes, and see if that doesn't correct the problem.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
I do not use my SS# to access my account online, however after calling Janus, they confirmed that you MUST use your SS# for OFX server access (no dashes as you noted), even if your online account Login ID is NOT your SS# . I asked about the possibility of using a non-SS# for OFX server access and the Janus rep said this was not possible.
SO, Using SS# via FM works.
thanks!
Tom
