What level of encryption does FM use when connecting to brokers? How is login information stored on my system by FM?

Thank you,

Hi Don,

Fund Manager uses the OFX standard documented at www.ofx.net. It uses the HTTPS protocol to communicate with the broker's OFX servers. This is the same protocol used by your web browser on secure sites. All communication between your PC and the broker's OFX server is encrypted.

Login information is stored encrypted in your portfolio file (*.mm4). The username, password, and account numbers are all encrypted in that file. For an extra level of security you can leave all your passwords blank, and Fund Manager will prompt you for them at the time of retrieval, but not store them.
Thanks,
Mark
