Stock-swap acquisition

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

One of my stocks was acquired in a 0.611-for-1 stock swap. I am not sure the proper way to record that in FM. I was going to just add the acquiring company stock to my portfolio (at a cost/share of $0.01) and delete the acquired company but is there a better way?

Hi moonlighter,

I would suggest recording a split, and changing the name/symbol investment property. For the split, you can record it an ratio, so record a 0.611 for 1 split. Under "Investment Properties..." you can change the name/symbol, and anything else that would apply to the new investment. This method keeps your transaction history.
Thanks,
Mark
