Hi Mark,

I've got a serious problem with FM that I need help with. Do you have a number where I can reach you?

Thanks, Mark. I'll plan to call your office on Tuesday (I'm assuming you're closed on Monday for the holiday, please let me know if you're open).

Here's a high level summary of the problem I'm having: I was attempting cleanup of my linked accounts by renaming some of the accounts they were linked to. (I wanted FM to have the same hierarchy as my broker so I could make easier comparisons.) I ended up with an "insufficient memory" message that locked up FM. The only way to exit FM was to close it via the task manager.

Further, when I subsequently attempted to open FM it would hang... hourglass would appear (and not go away) right after the password was entered, and the screen remained blank. I got around this problem by restoring a backup, but I'm still not sure what I did to cause this problem. And I'm a bit nervous about doing further cleanup of my linked accounts for fear of re-creating the problem.

Hi aviator,

We will be open on Monday.

Sounds like you may have run into a bug somehow. As long as you have a valid backup (*.FMB), you can always get your data back to that point, no matter what changes are made to your working data files. You could create another backup at this point, so you can make sure you get back to where you are now, before you try to make those changes again.

If you can provide some steps to reproduce a problem, we can look at it here. It is possible the problem is specific to your data, but we can try it with our own data first. If we can reproduce a problem here, then we can get it fixed.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Before calling you, I'll try to replicate the steps I took to create the problem. I was doing quite a bit of cleanup in FM and am not sure if I know exactly what or when it happened. I'm pretty sure the problem occurred as I was renaming linked accounts, but I'll try it again and will attempt to document what I'm doing.

Thanks,
aviator
