Upgrade to Version 12.3

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby GordonBruce » Tue Jun 04, 2013 8:53 am

Mark-

I am using the personal version of FM and have recently upgraded to 12.3.

FM opens but I am unable to load the .mm4 file (stored in My Documents\Fund Manager) when using File/Open Portfolio. The error message returned is "Other error reading portfolio".

Any assistance you are able to provide much appreciated.

Thanks and regards
Gordon Bruce

Hi Gordon,

It sounds like that portfolio file is somehow corrupt. I would suggest restoring from a backup. Use "File / Restore..." and you can choose to only restore the .mm4 portfolio file in the restore dialog. If you don't have any of your own backups, FM creates automatic backups you can use. See "Options / General Preferences... / Data" for the location of where your automatic backups are being saved. Just pick the most recent backup. Note the most recent backup is not necessarily the one with the largest number at the end of the filename. Look at the date modified of each *.FMB backup file to determine this.
Thanks,
Mark
