Importing transactions from MS Money

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby Richard_Sp » Tue Sep 17, 2013 5:59 pm

I am trying to import investment transactions from the Canadian version of MS Money 2003.
I have tried exporting from one Money investment account in what Money calls "loose" QIF and "strict" QIF formats. In both cases I get files with data that is readable with a text editor.
When I use the Import/Transactions/Quicken(QIF) command in Fund Manager and select a QIF file (either "loose" or "strict") I can see all the securities listed if I use the "Securities to Import from QIF File(s) command, but when I go to the next step, which should allow me to Select Transactions to Import, no transactions are shown.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi Richard_Sp,

If you look in the QIF file with a text editor, do you see your transaction data? If so, check your import options, so they are:

- All Securities
- All Dates
- With Matching Sub-Portfolio Name
- Turn ON "Create new sub-portfolios as needed"
- Turn ON "Create new investments as needed"
Thanks,
Mark
