Using a Sub-Portfolio as a Benchmark Index

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby Segunmichael » Thu Sep 19, 2013 5:57 am

Hello,

I use the Advisory version of FM. I wanted to use a subportfolio of my own mix of several instruments as a benchmark index when creating an Executive Summary Report for a client. The challenge is that the report only allows you to select single symbols and not an entire sub-portfolio.

At the moment I had to download the value of the sub-portfolio (the bench mark) and reupload it as price for a symbol i created. The process is long and prone to error.

Please suggest an alternative. Thanks.

Hi Segunmichael,

If you are using the 12.x Advisor version, please see "File / File Operations / Create Investment from Portfolio...". It easily does just what you described.
Thanks,
Mark
