Importing Alerts

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby B2B_Investing » Wed Dec 24, 2014 7:00 am

Aloha Mark,

I am trying to add a lot of alerts into FM. The only way I can find to add an alert is look at a security's data register and change the data type to alert. Since I am using the personal version (and cannot set a trailing stop loss alert) this makes it hard to see what my transaction prices are which I need to set the alert.

Is there a way to import alerts or another method of data entry? I am looking to set multiple alerts per security to influence buy / sell decisions.

Jason

Hi Jason,

There isn't a way to import alerts... One idea is to keep open both the Data Register and the Portfolio Editor. Set the Data Register to display the desired "All Transactions" for your investment, and to set a new alert, right mouse click on an investment in the Portfolio Editor window, and choose "Investment Data / Price Alert..." to set a new alert. This way you can see the transactions at the same time.
Thanks,
Mark

Aloha, Happy New Year and Thank you Mark. That does what I was looking to day. It would be nice to be able to hotkey (Ctrl-alpha) after a right click. Not sure that will be high on the priority list, but it would help with this and other repetitive data entry tasks we cannot import.

Thanks!

Jason
