Upgrading portable FM on Wine

Hi,
After running fundmanager on a virtual system for years, I have recently converted to using Wine linux. I am using the portable version which is easy to run under wine without needing further configuration.
Thinking ahead, at some point the main program will have an update. My question is how does the update .exe know where the portable folder is located? In the past I just ran the exe and it updated the portable folder without asking. Will it give a prompt if it can't find the FM folder? Now that I'm running it under wine, I imagine the update process will be more complicated. Any further insight would be appreciated so I know where to guide my research.

Hi Ray,

The main program cannot update itself, this is only updated when you download and run the setup program from our website. The setup program stores the installation folder in the registry, so when you run it again on the same machine, it will remember the installation folder, and set that as the default. During the installation process you have the choice to pick where to install it. The default is to install it at the same location you previously installed it. If you've never installed it from a particular machine, it will default to the Program Files (x86) \ Fund Manager folder. In any case, whatever the default installation folder is, you can change it to make sure it installs to the folder where you previously installed it.
