Asset Type changes

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby klvassalotti » Sun Apr 05, 2015 6:25 am

Hi, Mark. In my portfolio of mutual funds, I have assigned each fund 100% to a single asset type and checked the box to not download asset type information when updating. I noticed this month that the asset types are changing somehow. I don't know when or how. For example, I had assigned a fund 100% to U.S. Large Cap. When I updated my portfolios this month, that fund had changed to 100% Unused 2. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi klvassalotti,

I'm not sure... There are a few ways your asset type definitions can be changed:

1) Manually, under "Options / Category Labels...".
2) With the menu command "Edit / Internet Retrieve / Asset Types...".
3) A "File / Restore..." will also modify these labels to their prior values.

The above methods can change the definitions, but the assignment could also be changed on the investment itself, through "Investment Properties... / Asset Type" or possibly with "File / Import / Other / Asset Type...".

If you're not sure what/how it is changing, you might take a look at "Options / Category Labels..." and see if the definitions have changed. Either the definitions somehow changed, or the assignment at the investment property has changed. It would be helpful to figure out which one to try and debug where the problem is coming from.
Thanks,
Mark
