Holdings with 0 shares in portfolio editor

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby cbenenax » Thu Jul 09, 2015 9:55 pm

I have "Hidden Investments/Portfolios" unchecked in the View menu. Yet a handful of investments with 0 shares held appear in the Portfolio Editor. All of them have quote retrieval turned off. None of them show up in the Portfolio Value report. There are a huge number of old investments with 0 shares held that do *not* appear.

Why do these show up? How do I suppress them?

Hi cbenenax,

These investments aren't marked with the "hidden" attribute. You can set this on a per-investment basis under "Investment Properties... / Other / Hidden". You can also automatically mark all investments with 0 shares as hidden using "File / File Operations / Hide Sold Investments...".

The reason they weren't showing up in your Portfolio Value report is because of a report preference that does not display investments with a 0 share balance. That is under "Options / Report Preferences... / General / Do Not Display Investments With Zero Share Balance". That preference only applies to reports.

Thanks,
