Missing investments after computer trouble

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby cah1942 » Sat Sep 12, 2015 7:33 pm

I recently had some computer problems unrelated to Fund Manager. After getting my computer back from being repaired i opened Fund Manager to update my investments and found that about 12 symbols were no longer in the system. I have several hundred symbols all the remainder seem ok. Is there a way for me to find these missing investments ( i have looked at all the hidden ones thinking they could have ended up there but no luck) or do i just have to reinput the missing symbols.

Hi cah1942,

You could try restoring from a backup. Fund Manager makes automatic backups if you don't have your own. See "Options / General Preferences... / Data" for the location/frequency of your backups. You can restore just the missing investments, or everything. Just use "File / Restore..." and browse to the *.FMB backup file you want to restore from.
Thanks,
Mark
