Quote Module 496 Not Retreiving Some Indexes

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby StarBright2011 » Tue Jul 12, 2016 2:11 pm

After updating to Quote Module 496, I can no longer retrieve quotes for ^DJI, ^DJT, and ^DJU. I have no problem updating other indexes such ^GSPC. I have tried Yahoo Sever and <Default Server> with no success.
Thanks,
Ernest

Hi StarBright2011,

I'm guessing you were using the Bloomberg quote server? Bloomberg was removed in the 495 update due to their TOS. I would suggest getting these quotes from Quandl. The symbols can be looked up on Quandl. For example, the ^DJI code is:

YAHOO/INDEX_DJI

For instructions on using this new quote server, please see:

Thanks,

Thanks Mark.

I setup an account with Quandl and obtained a Quandl API Key; however, when I went to "Options/Internet Settings..." in Fund Manager, I cannot find Quandl in the list of servers.

Also, when I click on "Retrieve Server Status Now...", I don't find Quandl listed.

What am I missing?
Thanks,
Ernest

Question:

I can retrieve the following Indexes from the Yahoo Server:

^GSPC, ^IXIC, ^MID, ^NDX, ^NYA, ^OEX, ^RUA, ^RUI, ^RUT and ^SML,

Why can't I retrieve ^DJI, ^DJT and ^DJU?
Thanks,
Ernest

Hi StarBright2011,

What version of Fund Manager are you using? The Quandl support requires version 2016.14.7 or later. Those indices (^DJI included) are not provided by Yahoo at the link used by Fund Manager to download the data. They stopped being provided several years ago by Yahoo. I'm not sure why.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi StarBright2011,

If you want to use the Quandl servers you would need to upgrade to FM 2016.
Thanks,
Mark
