General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

I just transferred my data to my new Vista machine (from XP). On the XP I was using Version 6.8.344. On the new Machine I am using 9.4. Value for the fund and Cost of the fund is now identical on both machines. The yields at the top of both versions for 1 year, 3 year, and 5, year and gph are identical. However, the yields for 1m, 3m, and 6m are different. This is for the portfolio totals. When I took at the individual funds in the account on the new machine, it shows that for some of the 1, 3, and 6 m yield totals come up as NA. I would like the percentages to be the same before I get rid of the data on the old XP. What do I need to do?
Thanks in advance,
Brent

Update: I deleted everything off the VISTA and tried again. Now 1month, 3year, 5year and gph are the same on both computers. The 3m is off by .3, the 6m is off by .2, and the 1 year is off by .01. I am sure that is must be something in the setting on the VISTA 9.x version that is different. Please let me know. Thanks in advance,
Brent

Hi Brent,
In the 6.x versions yields were always annualized. In 9.x yields less than 1 year are not annualized by default, but you can change this. See "Options / General Preferences... / Yields" and turn on the option to annualize yields for terms less than one year. This will allow you to compare results against version 6.8. If you still see some differences, check your recorded pricing at the beginning/ending of the yield terms.

I did change that to annualized. That is how I got my numbers. Your second suggestion was to check recorded pricing at the beginning/end of the yield terms. Sorry, but how do I do that? Thanks again,
Brent
PS The yield numbers should be the same in both versions, current?
Thanks

Hi Brent,
There have been minor bug fixes here, like the yield term was off by 1 day in some cases, due to leap years. They should at least be very close. Are you transferring your data by just copying all the investment files and portfolio file? If so, you should have all your correct data. You can view the pricing data in the "Data Register" under the "Prices" data type.

Yes. I just copied all my data onto a zip drive and opened it up with the new version on my vista machine. The 1m, 3y, 5y, and gph numbers are exact. The 3m, 6m, and 1y numbers are off, but as you can see from my other posts, they are off just slightly. I was just trying to figure out why, and fix it before I delete it from my old machine. Any other things I can try?
Thanks again,
Brent Cook

Hi Brent,
Since you copied the same investment files, the differences are probably due to either interpolation range setting differences or the minor bug fixes I mentioned. You can check you have the same settings under "Options / Yield Interpolation Range...".
