Default Invest Goal

Is there a way to set the default investment goal for imported investments, it seems to always go to a certain one.

Sorry, no. It will go to the topmost position if not somehow specified during import.

thx, so if I want it to default to a certain goal, just put that goal at the top of the list?

Yes, under "Options / Category Labels...", the top entry in each category would be the default.

I'm finding that the default is not the top one in the list. It seems unchanged from the original despite which one I have at the top of the list.

How are you creating a new investment, where this isn't the default?

They are being created by importing transactions, (create new investments as needed)

If you've re-ordered the categories that would cause this. The default is the top one, before any re-ordering is done.

So it is incorrect that if you want to change the default, put it at the top of the list as we discussed above.

Yes, that is incorrect. It is the top one of the default list (before you make any changes). You can't put one at the top, and make that the default. You can rename the top one, and it will still be the default.
