Import generic goal

I am evaluating Fund Manager and have a question about importing transactions using the generic method. I would like to assign categories to GOAL during the import. The comment says "Specifies the investment goal when creating a new investment. Can be any string matching a defined investment goal category label", and I am wondering if this works at the transaction level, and if I have to somehow define these goals before importing the data.

Categories (goals, asset type, and sector) are investment level properties, not transaction level. The category labels can be adjusted any time you want under "Options / Category Labels...". It is just that at the time of import, if you want to assign these goals, the importing data must match the goals as defined at the time of import.
