Recommendations for recording account transfer - divorce

Hello. Any recommendations on how to best record an account transfer out (43% of account by number of shares) due to divorce in a community property state? The only post I could find that seemed to ask about a similar topic was https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5461&p=21826&hilit=divide#p21826. Thanks in advance.

Hi Pat,

The comments in that post you quoted are still relevant. You can't operate on an account level, you have to do it investment by investment unless you're moving the whole thing. As mentioned in that post, you might want to consider the tax basis. If you don't care about that (like in a retirement account), you can use Transfer Between for each investment. If you do care about tax basis, you would have to fix up each owned lot as of the date of transfer.
