Moving TD Ameritrade account to new Schwab account

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Been trying to do this but Portfolio Value report shows new Schwab account with a negative shart value instead of positive share value. Numbers are correct for shares except for the negative sign. Any easy solution to this?

Hi dmorse147,

A couple of things to watch for when converting a TD Ameritrade account to Schwab:

- Use your existing Fund Manager TD Ameritrade sub-portfolio, and change the transaction retrieve properties and name. You don't need to create a new sub-portfolio.

- When retrieving transactions from Schwab you might (probably will) see a bunch of "Sell" transactions on the date of the move. You do not want to import these. I suspect they're an artifact of the conversion and you really didn't sell those shares, they just moved accounts. On the Preview Importing Transactions screen, un-check all of those false Sell transactions before finishing the retrieval.

For more info on using Charles Schwab - NEW, see the documentation here:
