New investment created for existing investment

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby rmiz » Sun Apr 14, 2024 6:30 pm

I was moved from TD Ameritrade to Schwab last year.
1. When I download the transactions for an existing investment, FM is creating a new investment. The import file shows that it is a new investment. What do I need to correct this? I have been entering the data manually to avoid 2 records.

2. I have the correct account no on the portfolio, but the down load changes the account no to
about 20++ digit account no. How do I correct?

Your help is appreciated

Hi Regis,

1) Check the CUSIP value of your investment. Right mouse click and choose "Investment Properties...". You can compare this CUSIP of your existing and the newly created one.

2) This new long number is what Schwab uses for the FDX interface. It isn't your actual account number, but a pseudo "Account Number". You have to use this as the account number if you want to retrieve from Schwab. For more, see:
