Fund Mgr files

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Why do I have FMG files in all of my other computer files? Seems every time I use FMG it places a file or files somewhere other than FMG

Hi Joe,

By "FMG files", do you mean "Fund Manager files"? Fund Manager can optionally associate itself with file types that it uses. I suspect you have Fund Manager associated with *.dat and *.mm4 files. Fund Manager investments are saved with the extension of *.dat. Some other programs also use the extension *.dat, so even though they may be displayed in Windows using the Fund Manager icon, they are not Fund Manager files, and were not put there by Fund Manager. Fund Manager only saves data to the folder you specify, and doesn't write data anywhere else.
Thanks,
Mark
