Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Can you please clarify how you calculate the dividend yield column?
I have a stock position held since end of Dec 2013.
I have registered a stock distribution on the 30 April 2014 (no reinvestment) of 100 euro and the value of my stock position at the same day is 4200 euro.

What kind of dividend yield should I expect?

Regards

Hi edicrus,

If you are looking at the Custom report field:

Dividend yield (between)

That is defined as:

The annualized dividend yield earned for the date range of the report. Distributions (distributed and reinvested) between the beginning and ending (inclusive) report dates are included in the calculation. The value is a percentage.

And you can see the equation for the annualized dividend yield here:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/hel ... yield.html

This figure is calculated from per-share distribution amounts. So, if you record a 100 euro distribution for a date when you owned 50 shares, that is 2 euros/share. If your report date range is 1 quarter and the price of your investment is 75 euros/share, this would be:

2 euros/share / (0.25 years * 75 euros/share) = 10.7% annualized dividend yield
Thanks,
Mark
