issue with TWR and ROI with neg distributions on share

I have thai securities and they charge VAT on commission, clearing fees and trade fees
These I have recorded as neg distribution for each transaction taking/deducting the funds from the thai cash account
Problem is the neg values crash both ROI and TWR reports

Please advise better way to input these costs or work around on reports.

Hi twj332,

The reason is that after adjusting for all the cash flows, the value becomes negative. TWR and ROI cannot be calculated on negative valued items. There are a couple options you have:

1) Include these fees that you have as negative valued distributions into the "Commission Fee" field. This is simple, but the downside is you can't report on the breakdown the way you can if you record them as negative distributions. See option 2...

2) Record these negative valued fees for a day after you purchase the original shares.

Adjusted the (nef) distribution amt. to one day after and the owned on date to the date of purchase and the calculations worked.
