Performance Report

I'd like to produce a performance report for a portfolio that would give me the percentage change by month of each sub-portfolio (strategy) with a total %chg by sub-portfolio over on the right and a total for the portfolio by month. There would be a row for each sub-portfolio a dn one for the portfolio total and a column for each month and one for the totals over the period for the subportfolios. Can this be done?

I'd also like to export it to Excel so I can compare the sub-portfolios to their benchmarks.

Hi rickbu,

This sounds similar to our "Monthly Performance" report. You might start by taking a look at that. You can choose from a few different performance metrics for that report. You can export any report to a CSV file by choosing "File / Export to CSV..." while viewing the report.

Yes, Monthly Performance is indeed close. If I could get the subporfolios there as row labels I'd pretty much have it.

I am running multiple strategies in a single portfolio to avoid having to have separate brokerage accounts for each strategy and so the strategies can share a cash account. If I had separate accounts, calculating the return by strategy would be simple. But I dont. That's why I am interested in this view.

In this report, each row is for a year, not a sub-portfolio. The whole report is for a given sub-portfolio, that you can choose in Report Settings. You could create multiple copies of this report, each for a different sub-portfolio if you wanted.
