Report Filtered by Multiple Memo Fields

Is it possible to combine text strings from separate memo fields in order to filter for a report? I'd like to generate a report that includes only transactions that contain any of the following 3 memo fields:

CA STATE TAX W/H IRA7
FED INC TAX WHLD IRA7
J7NORMAL TO

Using "TAX" as the filter gives me both state and fed transactions just fine, but not the 3rd memo field. Using "7" picks up all 3 of interest, but also includes any other transaction that coincidentally includes a "7" when the amount or quantity is automatically copied to the memo field by FundManager.

Sorry, no, this isn't a feature of that filter option. We could consider adding some flexibility here, like using either OR or || in the filter string so that you can accomplish what you're describing here. With this, you could enter something like:

TAX || J7NORMAL

for the filter, and then it would find all 3 of these transactions.

That would be a great fix! Hope you can add it sometime to the functionality of report filtering.

I finally figured out a work-around to display all IRA distributions.
1. Run the predefined "Transaction Report" for the specified period of interest
2. Select "Edit Report Settings" from the report menu bar drop-down
3. Select "Filter
4. Select (check) "Include only portfolio external transactions"
5. Memorize new report with appropriate, unique title.
