Reports in a different currency

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby mli2001 » Tue Mar 03, 2015 4:20 pm

Hello,

I am a Canadian investor with US holdings. The report (holdings, distribution, etc) I receive from my brokers are in native USD. However, my FM settings are in my native currency CAD. How can I add columns to the various reports such that the USD values are displayed alongside the CAD values? It is very difficult to reconcile with everything shows in CAD in my FM reports.
Thanks
Morris

Hi Morris,

You can't see both at the same time. You can either display everything in it's assigned currency, or everything adjusted to your specified default currency. You do this with "View / Exchange Rate Adjusted". So, make sure your USD holdings are being entered in USD, and assigned to USD. I assume you have CAD set as your default currency, and all your CAD investments are being recorded in CAD. You can then turn off "View / Exchange Rate Adjusted", and all your CAD investments will display in CAD, and all your USD investments will display in USD. If you turn on "View / Exchange Rate Adjusted", everything will display in CAD.

In case you haven't seen it, we have a tutorial on using multiple currencies with Fund Manager here:
