Tiered % based on sum of subportfolios

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Hello,

I was hoping to generate a management fee based on a tiered% (2 levels) that is based on a clients multiple portfolios under management. No single account hits the second tier but in aggregate they do. The report doesn't seem to account for this even when applying the fee structure to the "holding" portfolio that contains all sub-portfolios.

Is it possible to apply a tiered % across a group?

Thanks,

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

Yes, just apply it at the client level sub-portfolio, and do not assign a management fee method at the account level. For example:

Code: Select all
- All Clients
  - John Doe
    - Acct 1
    - Acct 2

Assign it at the "John Doe" level, and leave "Acct 1" and "Acct 2" set to none.

If you want the Management Fee report to list the fees for each account, turn on the "Report Fees at Account Level" option when defining the management fee method. Otherwise, it will just list the total fees for the "John Doe" level.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks -- when I moved the sub portfolios to none and just left it at the portfolio level -- it worked perfectly. Not sure why I didn't catch that.

Again thanks for the quick reply. Much appreciated.
