Report by underlying

Hello Mark,

I'd like to generate a report that shows me the income generated by a series of covered call transactions. In my transaction list, I have the initial buy of the stock (say WMT). Then I have the sell transactions for the calls, the buy (which might either be an expiration or a roll, involving a buy and a sell). How do I create a report that contains all the different investments and transactions related to WMT? Each option is its own investment and it does not seem that I can filter by the underlying symbol of the option. Any idea on how I could do that?

Hi Philippe,

There really isn't a good automated way of doing this today. About the best I can suggest is to use the memo field, and then create an Investment Transaction report that filters by memo. You would include some common text in all the transactions you want to filter.
