Year to date report questions

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby larryw » Sat Feb 27, 2016 9:05 am

I've created a year to day performance report but have a couple problems.

1. After memorizing and the viewing report the next day the ending date doesn't change to the current date even if I update values. I expected the date to change each time I update prices. Shouldn't it?

2. When I look at the settings my Year to Date option has changed to Quarter to date and shows the date range as 1/1/2016 - 2/26/2016. Is this to be expected?

Hi larryw,

1) The report date range doesn't update when you update prices. It will be set when you create the report. If you're creating the report by recalling it as a memorized report, you can control how the report dates are initially set. When you memorize a report, you have 2 options:

Float End Date
Start Date Relative to End

These control the initial dates when you re-create this memorized report in the future. Additionally, there is a global option that controls how the end date "floats". See "Options / Report Preferences... / Other / Memorized Report End Date Floats To:" and you have the choices:

Current Date
Date of Latest Price
Latest Weekday
Yesterday

2) Yes, this would be normal, as both Quarter to date and year to date in this case would be the same date range. The memorized report remembers the date range, and the floating options. It doesn't memorize which of those pre-defined date ranges you pick.
Thanks,
Mark
