Pie chart's direction of rotation

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager graphs.

Hi Mark,

Comparing the pie chart (sorted by value) from my broker with the one in FM, I made the observation that it is more logical and readable (to me at least) when the direction of rotation is clockwise : from the biggest position at 00:00, turn clockwise up to the smaller position (as in my broker's chart):

Hi Djobydjoba,

Good point, I can see that being more intuitive...
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark, not a big deal but I'd still appreciate an option to order the largest positions in the other direction. It makes more sense to me.

Too, the "Donut" display is widely spread and It would be cool if it could be an option.

An article about pie chart:
https://www.tempo.io/blog/pie-chart

By switching from pie to donut, you make your chart slightly more readable by prompting your audience to focus on the length of the arcs at the edge of the graph rather than the area or the angles in the middle. It’s still not as straightforward as a bar chart, but it’s an improvement.

Indeed with a Donut chart the eyes can measure the lenght of the inner arcs as well as the outer arcs, so comparing the slices is a bit easier.

Edit: and maybe even the "hole size" (the slice thickness) could be customizable by the user... (hole size = 0 means current pie chart, not donut)
