Dates Price Retrieve request

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Djobydjoba » Sat Jan 31, 2015 5:30 am

Hi Mark,

When several historical quote servers are used in the investments, and an historical price retrieval is launched, windows asking for the date range appear one after the other for each historical server. For example, I have only few investments with "Google (historical mutuals)" and the pop-up asking for the dates for this server appear in the middle of the retrieval task, three minutes after the start, and this prevent the task to be fully executed. Would it be possible to :

- Ask for the dates ranges for each historical server involved at the very beginning of the retrieval task.
- ideally, ask for one date range only and apply this range for all the other historical servers. Maybe with an option "apply dates for all servers" in the first window. Because the date range is often the same (for me: always) for all quote servers in one retrieval task.

Thanks.

Hi Djobydjoba,

Thanks for the feedback. The one complication is that some historical quote servers have options that others do not. For example, Yahoo (Historical) can optionally retrieve dividends and splits, where other historical servers do not offer these options. Maybe it would make sense to only show this date range dialog again if there are new options, not previously prompted for...
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I understand the options issue.

At least, when the dates are given in the first window for the first quote server the other windows could be pre-filled with the same dates ? So we have just to check the options and click OK.
