Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby gbfabiani » Fri Jun 19, 2015 4:07 pm

Hi Mark, I am trying to set up Fundmanager for my Son who lives in the states. We are having to issues to retrieve automatically historical data from his Fidelity account.
On the brokerage account, we retrieved all investments, software created them properly ( symbol included) but one entry only , dated March 30 2015, number of shares ok, no price . Basically, we only have a list of investments with number of shares.

About 401k, we have all transactions of the last 3 months , complete with number of shares and price, but e missed everything before.

Any suggestion how to easily rebuild historical data ?
thanks
giovanni

Hi giovanni,

Unfortunately Fidelity only keeps 90 days worth of transactions on their OFX servers. If you use the New Portfolio Wizard to retrieve Transactions and Positions it will create the account, get all available transactions, and record any necessary "adjustment" buy transactions in order to get the current positions correct. You can then go in and edit/add any earlier transactions. You will need to either edit or delete the adjustment entry. You can do all of this in the Data Register.
Thanks,
Mark
