Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Aad » Sat Aug 06, 2016 3:45 am

Hi Mark,
Following the standard procedure I created a new investment, with 0 shares, and retrieved historical prices (from 01-01-2010), dividends and splits. It appears however that yahoo historical server updated all the investments in the database including the dividends and splits. Is there a quick fix to reverse the update?

Hi Aad,

If you use the menu command "Edit / Internet Retrieve /Update Historical Prices" or the toolbar button that updates all investments. If you only want to update a single investment, right mouse click on that investment and choose "Retrieve Selected Historical Prices".

To fix things, you can either exit without saving, or restore from a backup. Fund Manager makes automatic backups, so you can see if there is one with a good date you can restore from. See "Options / General Preferences... / Data" for the frequency, location, and number of backups. Use "File / Restore..." to restore from one of those, or your own if you've made any.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the prompt response. Unsuccessful to exit without saving. Restored from a backup, in Fund Manager the latest is 3 weeks old. Good lesson to check on the back-ups more frequent.
